Course Content:

Internetworking Training’s 3-day intensive Cisco WLAN Mobility 4.0 MAR hands-on course will arm you with the will arm you with the necessary knowledge and required elements to successfully deploy a WLAN mobile network.

Students will also gain extensive hands-on training experience utilizing the new compact high-performance Cisco 3200 Mobile Access Router (MAR). During the more than 25 labs, students will learn how the MAR is ideally suited for integration in vehicles, offers secure data, voice and video communications, seamless mobility and interoperability across multiple wireless networks. This course will also cover Mobile IP and how Mobility goes beyond the 802.11 frequency spectrum and provides seamless connectivity to networks in motion.

During this course, students will also learn how Mobility provides employees secure high-speed access whether they're on the road, at home, or at work and enables them to reduce downtime, increase productivity and customer satisfaction. 

Students will gain extensive hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Mobile IP (HA/FA Configurations)
  • MAR Hardware and IOS Configurations
  • FESMIC/SMIC/WMIC Configurations
  • Wireless Bridging, WGB and AP Configurations
  • IOS upgrading on MARC and WMIC cards
  • Roaming between multiple wireless networks
  • VLANs and Inter-VLAN routing with the MAR FESMIC
  • Configuring Wireless Routing
  • Dynamic Co-located Care-of-address (DCCOA)
  • MoIP Software Client
  • VPN’s with IPSec from the MAR to the HA

    Equipment:

    During this course, students will train utilizing the following equipment during the more than 25 labs:

  • Mobile Access Routers (MAR’s), which include FESMIC’s, SMIC’s and WMIC’s MAR’s used as Foreign Agents for Mobility Labs
  • Mobile IP Configurations and MMN Wireless Routing Multiple Home Agents for HSRP and Distributed HA Labs
  • 2.4 and 4.9Ghz radio card for hands-on labs
  • 2600 and 2800 Series Routers
  • 1200 Series Access Points
  • 1300 Series Bridges
  • VPN Gateways, FTP servers and Video cameras

    Students must bring their own laptops

    Mobility Certification Exam:

    The New Cisco Mobility 4.0 course requires you to take and pass a hands-on Mobility exam before you will be enrolled as a MAR/Mobility partner. This exam will be given on the afternoon of the 3rd day.

    The objectives for this exam are as follows, using the following lab equipment and layout:

    1. Physically build a Mobile network using the equipment/diagram provided from your instructor, and as shown below.

    2. Build an IP scheme for the network and implement this network

    3. Add Mobile IP and the commands needed for roaming

    4. Successfully roam between networks, and configure the network for optimal roaming using SNMP and other various commands

    5. Configure basic security for the WLAN network using WPA

    6. Configure, analyze and troubleshoot a VPN with IPSec connection between the MAR and the Home Agent

    NOTE: Test objectives are subject to change at any time! The hands-on lab will be graded on a point system and calculated via your configurations at the end of your exam. You will be provided with your score after the exam the afternoon of the third day.

    Prerequisites:

    To effectively participate in this course and derive maximum benefits from attending this course, participants must have a CCDA or CCNA certification or the equivalent experience and knowledge with the Cisco® IOS Routers.
